The Collective Soul Behind a Vote

I don’t understand politics. Why do people vote so passionately for someone who doesn’t keep their promises?
Why defend a leader who lies or disappoints?
What’s the point of choosing between flawed options?

But now I’m beginning to see it:
Voting isn’t always about policy—it’s about symbolism.
It’s about choosing someone who represents a collective soul.

When people vote, they’re not just picking a person.
They’re choosing the version of themselves they want to be seen by the world.
A vote says: “This is who we are. This is what we believe in.”

Even if the politician fails to follow through, the passion comes from that deeper desire:
to be represented,
to be included,
to be visible.

People don’t vote for perfection. They vote for resonance.

That’s why in recent years, we’ve seen a shift.
Many are now choosing leaders who are loud, messy, and flawed, because those flaws feel real in a world where polish often means manipulation. ( if there’s a choice)
For someone who might break everything, than someone who pretends nothing is broken.

It’s not always wise.
Often it’s trauma in disguise—disillusioned people choosing chaos over betrayal.
But even that choice reveals something honest:
we’re tired of being lied to.
We crave realness, even if it’s wild.

Even modern figures like Elon Musk, who say things like, “If I die under mysterious circumstances…”—they’re not just being dramatic.
They’re reflecting a culture that is deeply afraid.
Afraid of losing power, afraid of death, afraid of not being in control.

The system we’ve built isn’t rooted in trust—it’s rooted in scarcity and fear.
And when leaders act from that place, the people begin to mirror it back.

But maybe…
we’re ready for a new kind of leadership.
One that isn’t based on dominance, but on depth.
Not performance, but presence.
Not fear, but truth.

A leader who reflects not just what we think we want—but who we could become.
A leader who reminds us we are not here to be controlled, but to wake up.
